The Effect of Preloading Crystalloid Solution for Hypotension after Spinal Anesthesia in Elderly Patient

Abstract
Sixty ASA class 1 or 2 patients, aged 60 years or over, scheduled for surgery to the lower abdomen or lower limbs spinal anesthesia were studied.
Group A received 10 ml/kg of lactate Ringer's solution immediately before spinal anesthesia, group B received no volume preload. Heart rate, arterial pressure and anesthetic level were recorded by an independent observer. The overall incidence f
systemic arterial hypotension(defined as a decreased of 25% of more in systolic arterial pressure) was 17%, there were no significant differences among group. Crystalloid preloading had no effect on the incidence of hypotension after spinal
anesthesia
in elderly patients.
